There’s supposedly going to be the Perseid meteor shower tonight, for Taiwan it’ll be starting after 10pm tonight and lasting until 4am tomorrow (Aug 13/13).
It’s cloudy here in Pingtung though because of a typhoon, otherwise the night skies here are always so great for stargazing! Fingers crossed that skies will clear tonight. It’s almost impossible to do any stargazing in Taipei.. I’m going to miss it here so much.
Keep your eyes on the northern star tonight (not sure which one it is? Google star map can be your new best friend!). Happy stargazing, everyone!
**UPDATE: You’ll actually see more stars if you look slightly away from the radiant (northern star), as the northern star is the location as to which the meteor shower will be coming from, but the trail will be more visible halfway up the sky. Thanks SYT for the tip! :)
