A Slower Brain

It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks! XD

Mazazu Crepe

Mazazu Crepe Display

Crepe~

Green with Wings~

Toothless

Anyone know what this is? This is the main dragon Toothless from the movie “How to Train Your Dragon”. This is a green one and looks a bit strange because I made it from felt. Why green? It was the colour of felt that I had the most of. And yes, this is the “green, with wings” thing I was referring to in my last post. You can’t really see it in this picture, but one leg is a bit fatter than the other leg.. I tried my best though! Aside from that I thought I did a pretty decent job at making it look like what it was supposed to, although it looks more like a frog now ’cause of the green colour. I gave this to Michael in the end because he was the one who requested for it. Any other requests for me? (Yes Li~ What would you like?)

<<Also from old blog>>

There you go! Almost all my entries from my old blog.

Chocolate Felt Cake

Chocolate

Here is the picture of the felt cake that I made right after my final exams ended back in April. I was bored out of my mind for a couple of weeks before summer school started. So aside from learning driving with my dad, I worked on this cake as well as another project that I will post at a later time. (*hint hint* It’s green and it has wings~) My mom really likes this cake so I’ll be giving it to her when I go back to see her this summer. Hoping to find the time to work on more cakes in the near future. The plan is to make a cake box, but first I’ll need a box. Or maybe I should try chocolates. Anyway, that’s all for now. Back to more midterm studying!

D+ Natural Yeast Bread

Another entry from my old blog on D+ natural yeast bread.

D+ Natural Yeast Bread

This interesting looking bread is a D plus natural yeast bread. Why is it called D plus? In Japanese, the D is pronounced “day”. So it’s a “day plus” bread. This bread is well known for having a long shelf life and can last days beyond other breads. I thought that was really interesting and after further research by my sister, she told me that it can apparently have a long shelf life with no added preservatives because of the special way that it is prepared. Also, every bread comes with a green pad known as an “alcohol pad”. This is also supposed to help extend its shelf life.

D+ alcohol pad

So the flavor that my sister and I got was chocolate. The other 2 flavors available were red bean and cheese. On the official D+ website, there are 8 available flavors. In addition to the ones already mentioned, there is Hokkaido cream, maple, melon, blueberry and pumpkin.

The bread tasted extremely soft and smelled a bit yeasty when we first opened the package. The taste of chocolate was also really light, marbled delicately into the bread itself. All in all I must say.. the Japanese really know how to make a good yeast bread!

Hiyoko, a Japanese Snack

Wondering what the photo in my profile picture is? It’s a Japanese snack food called ひよ子 (Hiyoko). It can only be bought in Japan as far as I know, so it’s a popular tourist food that people bring back from Japan for family and friends.

Hiyoko Official Site (Japanese)

The centre consists of a sweet pale yellow coloured bean curd type of filling surrounded by a sweet soft shell. Not only is its appearance super adorable, but it tastes really good with milk too!

*munch*

This post was from my previous blog (on blogspot). I must get back to studying  for my biology midterm now. (Note to self: Must stop slacking..)

First Entry

Hello everybody!

I have officially decided to stick to wordpress for blogging. Before this, I had two other blogs:

First blog: My Corner_

Second blog: DelightfulAffairs

I actually created the blogspot blog not too long ago.. It has only been 3 days and here I am, writing away in a new one. I actually quite liked my entries from blogspot so I’ve decided to transfer them over to WordPress for the next few entries, so please bear with me.

That’s all for now.
